south dakota bottoms out

its a sad day when legislators in south dakota are proud that they come from the most intolerant state in america. this mentality is simply incomprehensible to me. they point with pride to their successes in passing the recent abortion and anti-gay rights laws. they point to the fact that they've successfully blocked such corporate presences as 7-eleven. they thrill to the idea that per capita, they are able to cut costs on educating their youth.

anyone who has spent more than a few moments in south dakota quickly becomes aware of a singularly unpleasant characteristic ... south dakotas don't want change. indians should stay on the res. nice girls keep their legs crossed. gays don't belong. sports and circusses for the masses. in our day we didn't need technology, and neither do our children. south dakotans for the most part, seem to take pride in being analog watches in a nanosecond world.

the legislators bemoan the fact that the young people are leaving the state in droves. OH HELLO!! wake up and smell the coffee, folks. why would anyone who has the power to choose, choose to remain in this state? its a right to work state, which translates to the pay and working conditions suxxor.

the age profile on south dakota says it all. the aging population doesn't want to invest in the future because their own futures are limited.
